Nintendo owns this list with 9 out of 10 of the top games sold in the last decade.
A company that was once on the verge of becoming completely obsolete has saved their empire by creating games that go beyond the typical 13-25 year-old market that other industry players strive for, and opening up to people as young as 3, and as old as 95. It was a genius move by the creative team at Nintendo, and the sales have continued to pay dividends.
I agree that this list does not represent the Top 10 games ever invented. Halo and Call of Duty continued to revolutionize gaming in the early 2000's. But sales are king when it comes to judging a game's appeal to the overall market, and on this list, the numbers don't lie.
